Kelaniya Temple
Kelaniya Temple is also one of the most important temples, which Buddhists are very fond of. During Lord Buddha’s 3rd visit, he visited Kelaniya to resolve a dispute between two casts. Finally, Lord Buddha is given an armchair which is made out of gems and gold. Hence, the stupa at Kelaniya is made enshrining the chair in it for people to worship on behalf of Lord Buddha as a gratitude for the Sri Lankan visit.
