Anuradhapura – The 8 Secret Places
Anuradhapura was the cradle of glorious Sinhalese Buddhist civilization. This is one of the “must-visit” places in the cultural triangle. The ancient stupas and ancient reservoirs took the pride of place in Anuradhapura. Towering stupas (pagodas) of stupendous domes, the marvels of ancient civil engineering, were built taking into account the effects of lightning on high-rise constructions, among numerous other engineering factors.
